A Commitment to Generosity

The past fourteen years of your generosity through the Christmas Offering have made a significant impact locally, regionally, and globally.

Here

Locally, we have supported hundreds of service projects and thousands of volunteers with funding and resources to make our communities better places to live. We've also served as the primary sponsor for the Bilateral Safety Corridor Commission's safe house for victims of human trafficking, provided funding to help launch the San Diego Rescue Mission's new South County Lighthouse, and helped to sponsor men in recovery from addiction at Powerhouse Sober Living.

Near

We've built over two dozen houses in Baja California by sending the funds and work crews necessary to construct homes for working families in Baja California. We've also provided meals and resources to migrants and those living on the streets in Zona Norte, Tijuana through our Zona Rio Church and Playas Church locations.

Far

The Bright Hope School and Orphanage in Bulanga, Uganda continues provide housing, meals, and education to hundreds of children. As a church movement we cover the expenses to house and feed the children and employ the teachers.

We have supported or planted over 60 churches that are serving and reaching their communities for Christ. Collectively these churches are ministering to thousands of people every week.

Our God-sized goal for this year's offering is: $550,000

This amount is big, but it's achievable if each and every family in our movement of churches joins us in generously supporting this year's Christmas Offering.

Give to the Christmas Offering

Through the Christmas Offering, we partner with local organizations to make a difference in the communities where the people of our churches live, work, and play. Here is a list of some of our local partners:


Bilateral Safety Corridor Coalition (BSCC)

For over fifteen years, we have partnered with the Bilateral Safety Corridor Coalition to support their efforts toward the prevention of and recovery from human trafficking. Over the past twelve years, the Community Church Movement has provided the funding for a safe house where victims of human trafficking are provided care, training, and counseling in the immediate aftermath of their rescue. 

For our City

The FOR Our City projects are ongoing service projects that each of our church locations sponsor and staff with volunteers in an effort to better serve our local communities. These include projects such as renovations at group care homes for veterans, people in recovery, or those with disabilities, clean up and beautification projects at local schools, and other similar efforts that serve the residents of our local communities.

Power House

Power House Sober Living provides support for recent graduates of residential substance abuse recovery programs as they transition back into the working world.

SAN DIEGO RESCUE MISSION (SDRM)

During the past decade, the Community Church Movement has provided funds and volunteers to support the work of the San Diego Rescue Mission (SDRM) as they meet the immediate needs of the homeless and unhoused community in San Diego while also addressing the underlying causes leading to housing loss and instability.

Fellowship for Christian Athletes

The FCA provides support, encouragement, and spiritual growth for college athletes who are often far from home and juggling both academic and athletic demands.

code 7

Code 7 is a unique ministry supporting the officers of the Chula Vista Police Department. “Code 7” is a police term for taking a rest break, and we provide funding for a chaplain to assist and support the officers of the CVPD.


NEAR

The Christmas Offering also provides funding for projects that impact communities and people beyond our local setting. These efforts seek to make a difference for Jesus throughout our region.


church planting

We believe that the local church is the hope of the world. That’s why we support the launching of both independent new churches and new congregations and locations within the Community Church Movement. In 2024, we served as a major sponsor of Create Church, a new church congregation meeting in North Park. We also continue to be one of the primary sponsors of the San Diego Church Planting Movement and are continuing efforts to secure a permanent facility for our Imperial Beach Church location..

Prison ministry

Our church movement currently supports a weekly program for the detainees at the Otay Mesa Detention Center, who are provided with spiritual growth opportunities and encouragement in both Spanish and English. This year, we also provided Easter and Christmas service to detainees at the facility.

HOUSE BUILDS

For over a decade, our church movement has partnered with YWAM’s Homes of Hope program to construct multiple homes for families in need in Baja California. Our volunteers pay their own way to travel to Mexico to participate in building projects, with funds from the church movement utilized to pay for construction materials and related expenses.

HOPE ZONE/ZONA DE ESPERANZA

Our movement has a long-standing partnership with Hope Zone / Zona de Esperanza, an outreach located in Zona Norte, the single largest red light district in North America. Hope Zone works with children and families impacted by prostitution and poverty, providing classes, activities, and support.

FAR

Although the Christmas Offering makes a difference in our local communities, we believe that we have both a responsibility and an opportunity to share the love of Jesus with a world in need. Whether it’s around the block or across the globe, we want to make a difference in the world around us.


bright hope

The Bright Hope School and Hope Child Care Program in Bulanga, Uganda provides education, housing, meals, and care for children in the Bulanga area, many of whom have been dramatically impacted by the AIDS epidemic. The Community Church Movement and EastLake Church Network have been the primary funder for the school for over a decade, providing over 90% of their funding and impacting the lives of hundreds of children each year.

Disaster relief

The churches of our movement recognize that natural disasters are an unfortunate reality of our world. Rather than “pass the hat” in a reactive way every time a disaster strikes, we have adopted a proactive stance, setting aside funds in advance of each calendar year so that we can provide funds to disaster relief agencies rapidly when needs arise. Over the years, we've provided funds to assist with earthquake, wildfire, and hurricane response across our country and throughout the world.

Kids Involvement
Toy Drive

This season, we're inviting our youngest members to be part of something truly special—the Christmas Offering Toy Drive! Here's how your family can join in the joy of giving and make a difference together:


Intentionality

Mark your calendars, put a reminder on the fridge, and make participating in the Toy Drive a memorable family event.

Individuality

Empower your child to choose a toy that sparks joy from our four categories: legos, balls, baby dolls, and arts & crafts kits.

Investment

Foster a sense of ownership and responsibility by involving your kids in the process of giving, whether through saving up or contributing through household chores.

Inspire

Ignite creativity and generosity within your family by brainstorming additional ways to spread joy beyond the Toy Drive.

Toys for the Toy Drive will be collected starting on November 14th and continuing through December 15th. Look for collection bins at any of our locations and join us in making Christmas brighter for a child in need.
